Is there a Lakland Skyline (or just plain Lakland) dealer online?
Yea, Musicians Friend has the Skylines. That's where I got my 55-01 and I love it!
Mud Flaps, try Gard and the guys at http://www.basscentral.com, they can answer questions you might have, and their prices, and service are great.
I should have mentioned that I am looking for a 44-02, but I might have to settle for a 44-01.
So MF is out of the question (They only sell 5 string Laklands).
Edit: Also, I am looking to spend under $850. So I want to try for a used or blem 44-02.
Oh yea, and I want a lined fretless.
There was one sold recently on TB to these exact specifications, I was stupid not to buy it right off the bat.
You can also talk to the Dude at http://pub206.ezboard.com/fthedudepitfrm21
He'll hook you up.
These are the 44-02s he shows as available:
1 Natural finish / Maple neck
1 Cherry Sunburst finish / Maple neck
2 Cherry Sunburst finish / Rosewood Neck
2 Three Tone Sunburst finish / Maple neck
1 Three Tone Sunburst finish / Rosewood neck
2 Black finish / Rosewood Neck
9 Three Tone Sunburst finish with Quilted Top / Maple neck
4 Natural finish with Quilted Top / Rosewood neck
9 Natural finish with Quilted Top / Maple neck
Thanks Bassmonkee, I registered for the Dude's ezboard forum. It's a slow site so it looks like I'm not going to be able to access it for a few hours.
In the mean time, I checked out BassCentral.com and they did not have anything I wanted. Their 44-02's are way out of my price range! And they did not have any lined fretless 44-01's. But I really like that site.
Mud Flaps, you gotta PM!
I had a very positive experience purchasing my Lakland USA 55-60 at Midlothean Music in Chicago, IL.

Oh...thanks for the update. On a positive note, I guess this gives me a chance to mention Midlothean Music again. Thanks.
