Lakland Skyline Series

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by HWK2, Dec 8, 2001.

  1. I'd really like to check these basses out, not having all the money in the world, and seeing as the list on the Skylines run at 1000+ they appear atleast to not be completly budget basses.. but I cannot find a single place that has them.. Any suggestions in the Portland area that might have them?

  2. I bought one of the cheaper Skylines and it's being shipped to Dude as we speak. I'll let everyone know how it works out. As far as I can tell, they're just now shipping out and should be at dealers any day now.

  3. I think a trip to Seattle is as close as you're going to get....

  4. What dealers might be getting them?

  6. What he said.
I'll be sure to post my thoughts when mine arrives. I bought the 55-01, the cheapest one. I'll tell ya, for the price I paid, it won't even have to be that good to be worth the money.

I've been thinking about one myself. I would love to own a Lakland but I'm on a Budweiser budget. This may be my chance! :D

I was in the process of getting a 55-01 from Steve when I got sidetracked. The price was excellent.

  9. Funky, what'd you pay? if you dont want to say in the thread could you PM me, I'd really like to know :D

  10. A few years ago I saw a few American series Laklands at Apple... I hate that place and haven't been back in a loooong time, but you could call 'em.

  11. Good call, I too hate the hell known as Apple Music. I just wish they're stuff wasn't so damn cool :( GC carries some pretty crappy stuff compared to that place.. too bad the salespeople that I've dealt with there made me feel like I needed to go home and bathe :(

  12. Hey Brad, actually I ended up getting yours. Dude sold it to me dirt cheap because Dan Lakin was shipping em out the following day. Sunburst/maple, right?
Funny to think that an MTD led to my picking one of these up!
As you know, I just got an MTD of my own. Which should tell you something about the price. As Homer would say "I'd be crazy not to buy it." I got it as part of Dude's "Pre-Christmas NAMM Sale," so....

I'm getting one from Dan, a silver one with a maple board with a pearloid pickguard. I won't say the price either, but like FC, I'd be crazy not to check it out. Mine is going to be part of the NAMM show, so I have to wait.

FC's and mine are in transit right now, hopefully we'll have them in our grubby hands before Christmas. I also got the 55-01, (SB, rosewood) after reading Herm's review of them I think I'll be awfully happy with it.

I hated backing out on that one and was going to buy it if that would have caused Steve a problem. The day I emailed Steve, I stopped by GC and the rest is history. I had been looking at getting the 55-01 and the fretless Warrior 5 I saw.

Congrats and let me know how it is. BTW I took my 55-94 and the 635 on the gig last night and took both D210XLT's....

    :D:D:D

  16. Yeah, Steve's a nice guy so I don't think he was angry--any bass player would understand what you did! I played my 535 all weekend and I am loving it!

Yes, talked to Steve, no problem there, Brad.
