Hey guys, While surfing the web today, I cruised over to the Lakland website. My GAS takes me there often and my keyboard usually shorts out from the drool. On the cover page is a direct link to the new "economy" series called the Lakland Skyline series. The only disapointment was that they only have fives available right now. I know that next year when I my tax returns come in I'm going to be purchasing a new bass. Does anyone know if they will be releasing a four string, and also how much are these things going to go for. They look pretty nice. And I was pretty sure that I would be getting a MusicMan Sterling, but if they release a four I'll have to make a tough decision. Anyways, any other info on these basses would appreciated. Dirk
There was another thread about this that had a link to another forum where a guy was talking about how he was ordering some to sell (I guess he was a dealer) he said that from what he knew, the four would be coming after a while, and the 5 should be coming in november. He said the price was around $1,100 , if I remeber correctly (don't trust what I said, because I am just trying to remember). The five looks good and will be one of the basses that are on my list. Probably will have to chose between a Stingray 5 and a Skyline.
Dang, I've always like Laklands. $1100, huh? Do you know if that was for the 55-01 (w/soapbars) or the 55-02 (w/ MM/J pups)? I'm assuming that they're made in Korea or Japan, but does anybody know?
5 Years ago, My uncle was able to get a real USA Made Lakland for only $1700. That bass is truly impressive still. Now you have to play $1100 for an overseas? Damn!
...that 'other' guy selling them was Steve dude Barr. He's a dealer .....here's the link to the thread in the Dude Pit : http://pub41.ezboard.com/fthedudepitfrm21.showMessage?topicID=52.topic -Peter
