Lane Poor ID

    Just got two Lane Poor pickups. One is SB4500 and the other is HB4500. Both for 6 string bass. Anyone have info on these ?

    Don how are you?

    The HB stands for "humbucker" and I blelieve the SB is for a "slim" or narrow humbucker. I am sure that N stands for "narrow coil" non humcanceling. I can ask, I've been in contact with a guy that use to work for Lane.

    cool. they appear to be single coil pups; only two wires coming out of each pup.

    actually, not necessarily single coils. Their MM pup only has two wires - it's got two coils but they're hardwired in parallel.

    That is correct. I have an MM with the four leads and I sold one with the direct wired HB.

    FWIW:

    Yep, apparently the 2 lead LPMM is the norm and 4 lead the exception.

    However since they're slim, probably singles but I don't know that for a fact.
