Ok after spending to much time in too many pawn shops I have found both a peavey mark III and a laney bc150 both for more or less the same price. Not heard either one and probably won't untill i get one home and plug it into my new hartke 1x15 xl cab.

Just wondering what they sound like. I've read a bit on both nothing amazing alot of people like the peavey but can't really find any thing on the laney.

I've tried laney hardcore combos before and thought they sucked in fact they more than sucked IMHO.

Is either of these amps less reliable than the other?

    Thanks in advance.

As regards reliability, I can't speak about Laney, but Peavey has a good reputation. I have had several of their combos and a very old solid state head from the 70's- all ran just fine and took serious abuse without complaint.

I have owned a Laney bass head for 6 months and have been really pleased with it. No reliability problems with it.

Your comment on Laney combos I've heard before. I think it may be the speaker as much as the amp ?

Can't comment on Peavy I'm afraid.
