    Hi all,
I've seen other players using these large black (tubular, I think) endpins around at bluegrass festivals and they seem to be sturdier than the 10mm that I have now. Do any of you have any idea what I'm talking about. I can't find what I'm looking for online, and there aren't any bass shops within an hour of here.

    Thanks,
    Jason

I've got one like that, but unfortunately I don't know the name of it. My luthier here in Portland, Don Kinch, put it in for me...I like it a lot.

Lemur has them. They are sold as the 5/8" shaft endpin. Hollow black or silver shaft. But, fitting the new endpin may/may not be a issue. Is your current endpin hole (the hole in the bottom block) fairly big?

    Hi Nick,
I'm not really sure about my existing endpin hole. I haven't seen enough basses up close in my life to know whether it is larger or not.

    Thanks,
    Jason
