Last year I bought a bass on new years eve. I did not think that would happen again. Shows what I know. I was taking my Chaparral down to the shop that does my tech work today and afterwards I hit a pawn shop that was just down the road. This shop has had several basses that I was "kinda" interested in in the past but I had never purchased anything from them. There stock seems to turn over pretty regularly but not real fast. When I walked in the first thing I saw was a black Epiphone EB-3. This model has been on my search list for a while and is only the second one I have seen in a shop. The price, $99. The problems, missing a string (and of course) one of the bridge saddles. Missing one knob. Cosmetically OK overall except for a pretty good ding behind the bridge (i don't care, i like battle scars). So a little bit of haggeling later and I took it home for $85 out the door.

I found a set of bridge saddles on ebay which I ordered, and there seem to be plenty of replacement knobs available cheaply as well, so I will order some later. I have a extra set of Epiphone bridge saddles right now since one of my Epi- T-birds is being refinished so I'll toss one of those on it for now until the new set arrives. If this one plays as nice as my EB-0 I will be happy. I'm also thinking about trying out one of those vinyl guitar wraps on this one for fun.

No pics- no $85 EB-3... these are how it came from the shop... :)

A Search of the Serial number shows it is a 2004. Got it put back together with some new strings, neck is great, just need to do some minor adjustments on the bridge for string height and intonation and its ready to go.
