    She sets it on her lap, takes the pick, and starts fiddling around.

    She is musically retarded. She doesn't know the difference between a quarter note and a rest.

    I was watching her, trying to teach her "american idiot" with just roots (She is on a greenday kick, so why not teach her something she'll recognize?)

    She has natural GREAT technique I was amazed...

    She shows some interest in learning drums, and a little guitar... Should I nurture this as much as I can? I want to get her into lessons, I think she would pick up really quickly...

  2. If by technique you mean rhythm, then she is a sureshot at drums.

    Yes nurture it.
    Encorage her to listen to good music and if she wants to be a drummer, listen hard to the drum parts.

    let her listen to some rush so she'll instantly give up on ever being able to properly play and instrument.
