Last year White was Offered on MIA Standard Precisions?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by freshmeat1989, Jun 28, 2005.

  1. What was the last year a white was offered on American Standard P-Basses? What white was it? I want to get a white one and put an Anodized Gold Pickgaurd and covers on it. yes I am aware of the '57 Reissues.

    Thanks a lot.

Not completely sure on this one, but I believe they offered white until 97? 98? I seem to remember seeing Jazzes in white with those dates. I forget if they called it Olympic White or Artic White, but it was that slightly off white color. They also had a finish called Vintage White which was a banana pudding yellow color during that time.

For the next several years, they offered an ash-bodied translucent white finish which went through the change to the American Series. I have one from 2000 which has the nice rolled fretboard and whatnot of the Am. Series. That finish was discontinued 2000? or 2001?
  3. Thanks man.

    Anyone else?
