    Finally completed my clients bass.
Deep tenon hard rock maple/ ebony 24 fret neck 12" radius.
Hand carved Alder body/ curly Koa top
    Bartolini M34CBC pickups with 3 band pre-amp.
    Ebony knobs

My first deep tenon , it plays very well with a nice combination of very deep bass and still has the sparkle up top.

Very elegant and understated, in a good way.

Nice finish - how is that Koa (and the bass) finished (It looks really smooth)

The deep tenon is very similar to a neck through . The neck extends into the body cavity to the back of the bridge pickup. There is 1/4" of body under the neck .

The finish has 2 base coast of Zinzer Shellac, they were sanded to 600 , then lots of Nitro lacquer.

there's a few "in progress pictures" but nothing of note.

One of the design paradigms was a small body , although the client is 6' 3".

As you can see while it has a 34" scale it is a bit smaller than a Jazz bass.

I plan on getting one when the client comes to pick it up, and when he takes it on stage.
