I have a set of Yamaha TRB upgrades in my... you guessed it, in my Yamaha TRB. What I would like to know is, which lead is which? These pickups have 3 leads coming out of them, a black one, a red one and a bare wire one, kind of alike a shield in sheilded cable. Are these pickups some sort of dual coil thing? Anyone?

Just so you all know, I couldn't get it/them sounding any good so i put the stock Yamaha pickups back into it. Sounds ok now. But not fantastic. I want to use the Lane Poors. I have heaard too much good about them to just let them sit around.

I don't know for sure, but if I were to take a guess, I would think that red is pickup "hot", black is pickup "ground", and the bare wire is "shield" which should also be connected to ground.

Do you have a multimeter? I would measure the resistances between each conductor. That will go a long way towards telling you how it is wired internally.

I'd agree with Bob here. Red should = hot, black=ground, bare = shield ground.
