I would just like to know if anybody can reccomend any video's or any other self help tools to learn to play bass? The main thing I would like to learn is correct posture and some different strumming techniques, etc. Anyone have any advice?

  2. You might want to try activebass.com they have everything from begginer lessons to advanced lessons. That is what I am using to learn to play.

  3. Mel Bay has made some great books. That's what I started on.

I don't like videos much, I'd rather watch players in real life and talk to them - ask questions.

Lessons, if you can afford them, can't hurt. You gotta find a good teacher though...
