    im currently looking to buy my first bass to learn on but ive very little hands so i wanted to know if a half size bass would be a good thing for me to learn on,thank you

    You'll really need to just try some out and see what feels right. There's no other way to tell.

    I just bought my first bass and what I did was check to see what was the "standard" scale was. I found out it was 34". I didn't want to try and learn on something smaller because I would ultimately move up to something more standard and pretty much have to re-learn the fretting hand technique to fit the larger scale. So I went with a 34".

    that said, it could be that a 34" wouldn't fit you well. I'm pretty big physically so wasn't too worried about this. If you're smaller you might want to try a 30" and see how you like it.
