LeCompte MEGA Thread!!!!

I would love to own one. Some of his designs are just amazing.

ps- I really like the woods on yours, Quad. The natural guard/inlay/whatever you'd call it is very cool.

Well heres a question... Does Bud do custom work? Obviousely theres some degree of custom work... but I mean completely client submitted design, electronics, wood, etc?

 

Well yes he does, all you have to do is submit your design.

I love Bud's work and plan on ordering a LeCompte one day. I've also been thinking about that Violin type he made awhile back but hasn't sold.Every bassist needs a J, who says it has to have a J body?

I have a custom design that I may ask Bud about doing in a year or two down the line.

All in all, Bud's basses are flawless.

 

That reminds me of a Ric with big scary fangs.......

 

I don't see any ric in that bass at ALL...i mean not even a tiny bit.

Sweet looking none the less! Look the balance that thing has!

 

I think the Upper horn on that is very Ric like, and I happen to love Ricks. That model is what first made me investigate Lecompte. Its like a Rickenbacker made an extreme line

 

I dont realyl think posting pictures of your bass and everyone else commenting upon it is really a megathread. Yes maybe one of the handful of other lecompte owners on this board will chime in, but i tihnk megathreads are bbeing overused.

I think teh thread is fine, but calling it a megathread right off the bat confuses me. What makes this thread any more mega than any other bass thread?

 

Well one of the reasons for me would be that Bud is a constant TBr who posts here on a regular bassis and offers tips and help in the luthiers corner, how many builders and/or manufacturers do that? Some but not many. And the ones that do, we are grateful. Of the few megathreads honoring basses on here, Bud may be the only one that actually posts here. I for one can appreciate that. All of our bass builders here should have them no matter how many of us have them or not. IMHO.

 

I tihnk id like to get your opinon on the word MEGAthread first.

If you mean it just as SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT THREAD< fine


but in my experience, a megathread is either a bigasss thread or a collection of a few threads on one topic that have been combined.

 

Maybe we're hoping that it will be a megathread . There are a LOT of Le Compte threads going back for some time so I think it's cool.

 

So I guess that makes Figjam da Man?

I don't know, is he really that great?
