left hand technique

  1. just wondering if anyone has tried this. i have been trying to correctmy hooked left thumb flat fingers style and have found a great method that allows me to easily play using fingertips and with absolutley no cramping or tension inmy left hand. the method books all say to have your fretting hand somewhat open like yopu are holding a glass, but this has been hard for me. so, instead, i bent my thumb so that my thumbnail and first thumb nuckle slide along the back of the neck. this keeps my hand open, relaxed, and in position to use my finger tips. i find i can articulate better and NO FATIGUE.
has anyone tried this? if no, try it and let me know what your experience is.
oh! one caveat-down around the first twoi frets i have to flip old thumby around-oh well, nothing works perfectly
