Now sure if this should go here, or in "Recordings", but I'm interested in finding some Live Leland Sklar recordings.

I know he did a live album with Phil Colins, and a hard-to-find James Taylor import, but wondered if there are any others worth checking out?

    Thanks

The James Taylor Live double-cd is a "hard-to-find import"?! Wow...I bought mine a few years back at a Price Club. Times do change.
Anyway, anyone have or know of any Sklar recordings with The Section?(The band had Russell Kunkel & Danny Kortchmar...supposedly, they were doin' Jazz/Rock/Fusion back in the late '70s?).

  4. I was interested in this so I did a search in the music area over at BN.com for Leland Sklar:
    273!
    available cds.

BTW, searching for "Sklar live" only found the Jackson Browne and Collins live. "sklar kortchmar" found among others the No Nukes live concert cd.

Jim, the James Taylor "Live" CD from 1993 is with Jimmy Johnson, not Leland Sklar. (Although that album does have one of the best live line-ups - Jimmy Johnson, Michael Landau, and Carlos Vega)

The one I'm talking about is "Live in Rio" - completely different album.

I just got "Running on Empty" and put a bid in for "The Section" LP last night.

    Thanks again for the suggestions!

    ...dammit, you're right(& I knew that!). ;)
Don Grolnick(RIP) was also in that fine, fine 'backing' band.
