To any who might looking into this bass: http://cgi.ebay.com/PEDULLA-THUNDER...oryZ4713QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem There is a used Pedulla Thunderbolt 6 with black finish on sale at the Guitar Center in Indianapolis, IN. They are also selling it Ebay. I purchased this bass from Guitar Center a couple months ago only to return it after finding that there was a broken truss rod in the neck. Pedulla said it would not be feasible to fix it. Guitar Center took it back and now has it up for sale, and I am positive that they did not fix it, as I played it today. Whats worse is that I originally paid $900 for the bass and they are now charging almost $1200. I really can't believe that they're trying to sell this bass...
another definition of theft IMO , i dont think ill ever buy anything off cry-bay , unless it's from a known TB'er.
I've gotten good deals on Ebay. However, its Guitar Center that has bad ethics. I took that bass back, proved it was broken and they put it back up for sale the next day, with a HIGHER price...as if nothing was wrong....
The standard "a sucker is born every minute" school of unethical retail management. Can you complain to Ebay and get them to take it down?
I've actually never had a bad experience on ebay, but I don't buy anything from the "gcrep" users. If i happen to click on an auction in which the seller is one of the "gcreps", I quickly leave the page. I've gotten to the point where I can spot a gcrep ad by the description when I search, so I don't have to waste my time clicking ono the auction. Disclaimer: I'm not making any sweeping statements about Guitar Center, just stating a personal practice based upon personal beliefs.
Wow, that is lame. I suggest you contact Pedulla directly about this. They have a statement on their site regarding the condition of their products in the retail stores, and that if you come across any that are in poor playing condition to inform them about it. They will contact the retailer and deal with it. I think this counts...
THATS DISGUSTING!!! I dont think I've ever heard or seen anything that criminal done as if it's been a common practice that the pilgrims on the mayflower started! I doubt I'll ever buy from GC again! Jay
Let's keep an eye on the auction and warn any bidders about it. Just send them a link to this thread. I'm sure they would be justified in retracting their bids. - Dave
***????? It's a bolt on neck!! Why would Pedulla say that? Was that direct from Pedulla? Or was that "relayed" through someone at GC...........
I agree! FIGHT THE MAN!!! (haha) I don't think that it would be fair for us who are subscribed to ebay (I'm not) to just sit on our asses over here complaining about it and sitting back and watching as an innocent and delusional bassist gets scammed!
It may be a bolt on neck. But to my knowlegde, pedulla will not sell necks seperatly. And one of the big reason people dig a bass is the neck. So, why should you pay 1200 for simply a body and electronics? I know alot of people who dig the pedullas due to the neck. Just my .02 Dan
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=202070 is this the same bass....you didnt mention the broken trussrod in here but it still is awful what gc is doin.
Just took a look and they've ended the auction without any bids in! Looks like the questions you guys sent may have given them a heads-up!
