Hi, I was wondering if this is true, I ordered a badass bridge 2about a month or so ago, and I was just told that his company is going to be closing due to the fact that he has terminal lung cancer "although I hope he pulls threw" and I've noticed that most websites and guitar shops in my local area can't even order them. I was told by a few shops that they are expecting an order in september but they are still unsure. I tried emailing the company to see weither or not these products are backordered I didn't wana bring up what I was told about him having cancer and I have recived no replys also one distributer told me he hasn't answered his phone or emails for the last few months I was wondering has anyone heard about this?

  2. no, I haven't heard about this. The lung cancer is a major bummer, more so than the chance of the company closing down, even, IMO. my grandfather died of lung cancer and i don't have any good memories relating to the pain and suffering that he endured.

As far as the bridges, the Badass is too popular for it to just stop. If the LQ company doesn't make them, then a similar model WILL surface. There's already a lot of great bridges out there, anyway.
I'm diggin the new hipshot designs, and I have a new-style bridges on the '08 Fenders are way cool. The sadowsky bridges also rock. this is only mentioning a FEW.

  3. I would bet a company like Fender would scoop that up pretty quick, if this news is true, do to so many of their sig models having it.

A local shop also told me this. They said that he was really sick aswell and they weren't producing anymore at the moment. Sad news indeed.

  5. I heard from a guy who claims to have known Leo personally that he was 'very difficult to get along with'. Something about him sticking a shotgun in his face on their first meeting. :meh:
Again, just word of mouth, but if there's any truth to it then he might be the 'it's mine & you can't have it' type.
    Truly sad about the cancer...

  6. No one said after he passes his family wouldn't be greedy, I am sure someone would pay a pretty penny for those designs and rights.

I also heard that he was terminally ill when I ordered mine. It was the last one they had in stock. My prayers are with him and his family.

Bad news! Hopefully he gets better, and these stay in production.
