Leo's original G&L prototypes for sale

    http://cartervintage.com/basses/basses.html - scroll down about half way. There are two original G&L prototype basses that were apparently the last basses Leo worked on. Prices are ridiculous, but still they are a pretty cool piece of bass history.

    Most everything on that site is overpriced IMHO
    $450 for a mexican P?

    But it is pretty cool. Some collector will strike a deal I'm sure.

    I think they have at least one extra zero on that thing's price.

    Interesting and very Leo. So it's a prototype 2 pu 5'r (which wasn't made in this platform) I bought an '86 G&L 1pu 5'r but the neck was bowed so I sent returned it. It looked like this one (in black w/rosewood board) but with only 1 pu. String spacing was tight and the overall tone was so-so. Maybe just a lemon. This one looks cool - I like the hs design.

    any more info about it?

    I assume strat style switching
    but what do knobs and that extra switch do? hmmmmmm
