Hi, I have started listening to a bit of Primus, but I have never seen Les Claypool play, and I was wondering what technique does he use to strum chords??

    Thanks

It's a very loose down/up stroke. The fingers flail a bit a-la Flamenco sort of. Wears out your nails a bit.

get the videoplasty live video... you´ll get more techniques than you asked :)

also if you catch any live performance of Stanley Clarke will be useful... he uses the same technique

Yeah what the other two fellows said.

The fingernail downstroke thing is hard to explain but you sorta flick your fingers down so they rake the strings.

As said the video Videoplasty is very good.
