Hey, anyone had experience with this bass? looks kinda interesting. Good tone? Whats it comparable too, any information out there?
Back when I was just a beginner .... like last year. I had superduper G.A.S. for the Gibson Les Paul bass. Like Herr JMX said though....they are heavy and a bit off balance, neck dive city!!! After trying on out at our local music store I got rid of my G.A.S. for the LP .Still think they are sexy ass instruments though.Check one out for yourself.Hey,you may like it!!! Usul p.s."Look ma,no Beano!!!"
Well, for a long time I played the Epiphone Les Paul. So I couldn't imagine what kind of improvement you would get if you moved up to Gibson. Like the other guys said, it is kinda neck heavy. However, I thought that it had a great neck, and fairly good electronics in it for what I paid at the time. Anyway, I would also love to hear what people experience has been with a nicer Gibson version. Currently I play a '74 Gibson Les Paul Signature (which I love). However, thats semi-hollow and very very different from my old Epiphone or the current Gibson models. Sorry, I dont' know if that helps too much. Peace, -Nate
I've got one. And love it. Its great, good electronics in it and the neck feels awesome. Just get a good strap and you will be fine with the neck dive thing. Good luck and go buy one. NOW
for a good example of this bass' tone, listen to some Ben Folds Five...that's what the bassist plays...
