I was looking for some good recordings of Phil, and since there are so many live/studio Dead albums and bootlegs out there, it is a lot to sort through. Could anyone recommend an album or two with some tasty lesh...and also possibly direct me to a source of purchase or trade.

(Ahem...) Well, if there are alot of deadheads on this board this is likely to get controversial, but the first stuff I learned to play on the bass was Dead stuff so I will make a recommendation. Europe '72 is a double disc cd that sounds great and you can really hear Phil well. I started my forays into the Phil zone with this title and it served me well. It is a popular choice, so you should be able to find it anywhere.
