Alright, bear with me on this one......

I have a feeling that certain types of basses can be grouped together - meaning, if people like one bass, chances are they'll like a certain other and dislike a certain other. If that made no sense, I'll try like this -

I believe people who like Ibanez basses dislike MM basses.

People who like Spectors, hate Warwicks.

People who like Warwicks, like MM.

People who like Fenders, dislike Warwicks.

People who like Zon basses also like Spector basses and think Ibanez basses are OK.

Get the idea????????? This thread may go absolutely nowhere........

What basses do you prefer, and which do you dislike. I wanna basically see if there's a pattern we can get outta all this.

I like Warwick, Dan Electro, MM.

    I dislike Fender, Spector, Ibanez.

keep in mind that this doesn't mean EVERYBODY. But here's what I've seen and heard.

I've noticed that some of those who like Zons, don't like Modulus.
    Sadowsky guys don't like Fenders.

    Wow, that's Creepy.

The cornball in me had to do that :D .

Jest fer the record - I'm not stating any "molds" above, just a sort of hypothesis, or something I've noticed. The whole point of this thread is to see if we can kinda pool basses together.

Well i think any bass can sound good. but, mytases are as follows

I like,Ritters, Fender, Ibanez, Spectors, And Rickenbackers

I hate MM's, Laklands, Washburns, and DanElectro.

But, people that like Ibanez, hate fender, and those who like fender, hate ibanez,,,,IMHO,,, Seems like anyway.

  7. How can you dislike Spector?!?!

I like Spectors and I like MM. I also like Fender and haven't played any of the higher model Ibanezs so I cna't judge them. I can't stand Dan Electros!

i like good basses. i dislike crappy ones - especially basses that have flimsy necks or that often need setup adjustments.

I tend to have an attitude against Ibanezs. It is more about bad experiences with a few annoying people that all played Ibanezs. I have to admit the basses are probably ok its just the Ibanez attitude of those snot nose punks.

There are very few basses that I absolutely dislike, and I don't discriminate by brand. I do like most Fenders, Warwicks, and Gibsons. I absolutely love all FBBs, and I am now enamored with Roscoe. I haven't found many Alembics I've really liked, or many Ibanezes (except the ATKs) or Spectors. I would like to have a Rick, I wish I had the Modulus back, and I'd like a Sterling.

People who like Fenders like a traditional looking bass.

People who like not so traditional basses can stand Fender but don't mind other basses such as Yamaha and Warwick.

    Bassists like basses.

I like dogs and Foderas. Basses without angled headstocks are a PET peeve of mine.:D
  19. I dig Fender basses but dislike Fender guitars. I dislike Gibson basses but love most Gibson guitars. I like any bass that feels, plays and sounds good to me regardless of who it's made by. I guess that's why I have so many Fender basses:D

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
    What he said.

I also don't care for thick (not to be confused with wide - I dig me some string spacin'!) necks, ala Lakland Skylines.

Oh, and I DON'T like painted necks, though I do have one bass with a painted neck that gives me no problem at all.
