Hello all. I'm a proud owner of an Avatar 2x12 Neo cab, and I was wondering if there were any other TB'ers sporting a 2x12. I'd also like to hear why you chose a 2x12 over a 1x15 or 4x10. I personally love the midrange punch that I'm able to get out of the 2x12. :bassist:

    I couldn't argee more. . .depending on the gig,I use, a Aguilar GS-212 and Genz-Benz Neo 212x or GK 150MBS + 12-MBX cab(yea the aluminum ones) or a 1965 Fender Bassman 2x12. No 10" bass speakers at my house ever ! ! !. Oh yea when I play outside I bring along a 1x15 JBL E-140 just when I need some extra BOOM !!!
  3. Avatar 2x12 Neo over here! I've got it paired up with the 2x10 Neo. I played an Ampeg 2x10 and 1x15 cab setup for a while, but found that it just wasn't moving enough air to keep up with two overbearing gui****ists. It's a simple case of surface area. More speakers will yield more sound. :D That, and it allows for more variety. I can take the 2x12 on it's own to smallish gigs and rehearsals and it works great. The 1x15 left a lot to be desired on it's own.

I'm glad I switched to the 2x12 and would have a hard time switching back. Punch and clarity for days. I can *hear and feel* myself now rather than *feel* and *sorta make out*.

Aguilar GS-212 here. Love the punch, and it has no trouble handling the B on my 5er. I use an Ashdown ABM500 to power it, and have never run out of headroom.

Oh, yeah: the wheels are a nice feature, too!:D

Here's my new double 2x12 rig. I also use 15s, but this rig is a punch machine. This has more authority than 4x10 and more speed than 15s. It's a great place to be!

Schroeder 1212 owner and proud of it. I went for 12's because they handle the lows beautifully and still give me lots of punch when I need it. I plan on adding a 410 in the future though.

Another future 2x12 owner here. Well, it'll be a 2x12 in spirit, anyway. I ordered a pair of Dr. Bass RX112 Neos a few weeks ago.

He's using a new driver that's even lighter weight than the Neo he used to use and these cabinets are supposed to weigh in at around 28 pounds each!

I went from 10's to 15's to two CXL112's and love the tone and volume I get from them! paired with my YBA200 best sounding rig ever!!:hyper:

    Greetings from the North,
I've got a Dr.Bass Rx2260 that I run a Yorkville XS800H through. I keep toying with getting another cab to put under it just so it will look bigger but I really don't need it. This little cab can get loud n punchy with great tone and without breaking up.

    I'm down.

I really like my Schroeder 1212. I like that you get the tight responsive sound similar to a 4x10, but you get more full low/low-mid similar to a 15. I also like it because it's a smaller box than any 15 or 4x10.

    LDS UL212 here.

I actually like 12's better than 10's. To my ears they sound not as lazy as 15's but not as quick as 10's.

I'm selling my 212 because I just got a pair of Epifani UL112's. Modular rig and I still have the sound I dig when using both.

Schroeder 1212 here. Also, I had two Aguilar GS112s that were great. No more 10 or 15s at my house.

At one gig, we looked around and there was nothing but 12s -- PA, monitors, guitar, keyboards, bass, everywhere there were 12s.

Same here, sort of. Mine's more like a "neo NV212," with 2x12 and 2x6. I dig it.

My Genz-Benz 410XB was getting just too much to haul around so I got a Genz-Benz NeoX 212T and I've never looked back. Its a great cabinet with rich, lush and warm deep bass tone and plenty of volume with my SVT-3Pro.
