    my last custom ordered bass == no inlays

    my custom ordered Benavente "51" that will be delivered within a couple weeks == Naked Maple

    I prefer none.

    I do love Blocks on a Jazz and triangles on a Ric thou

    Schecter does some cool inlays that aren't really overdone and ridiculous looking. Check out their 'Tribal' guitars and some of the others.

  8. That's still an awesome neck inlay(s?) though, guitar or bass. :) I never would've thought of a dragon till now. Doesn't seem useful for fret markings, but if the guy is building his own bass he should already be familiar enough with the board, so I guess it doesn't matter.

    These basses have some incredible inlay work.
  10. Hope yer not in a big hurry - some of those inlays could take months to complete!

    my latest bass has only one inlay: (a chunk of engraved pearl at the 12th fret)
