well, i ordered another Warmoth Jazz Deluxe 5 since my first one is serving me so well. This time I went with the Mary Kay White finish on a one piece Ash body.. thing is , I have seen different hues of this finish and the Warmoth site shows it to be a little bit pinkish, and I am not sure i want a pinkish bass (well, I am sure i don't) - so i don't know the penalty , but i may have to change it, but before i do , i would love to see if anyone has that finish on their bass. i really want trans white , but what Warmoth offers is Mary Kay trans white. Show 'em! :bassist:

sweet! if the warmoth comes out like that, I'm happy.
    How's it going, bro?
i think it may come out kinda like this, with a hue of color in it, from what i see on the warmoth site-
it's kinda cool and probably what it will look like

Those last two pics look almost like just natural. If I wanted a white finish like that, I'd want it a little more obviously white, y'know?

Keep in mind that white is a tricky color to photograph, and a picture of a white bass can be impacted by what's around it. Take the Strat in the case, for example - it probably appears a bit "pink" because it's sitting in the deep red case.

i have to talk to Nino about a pickguard, originally i was not goign to do a guard and use a u rettro- then i thought, i already have that setup, so i am getting a j retro and will need a guard- as far as i know, Nino is the only one i have seen make a guard. i may ask him to make a few. Pearloid ( for a real pimpish 70's Graham vibe )
    Tort ( for a classic vibe )
Gray pearloid for a different vibe
I even thought about sending a trace to terrapin guitars , the do wood guard, and i though maybe a birseye guard to match the board would be way cool- that way i can dress up baby in different5 outfits.

way back when i had a white Kramer.. yep, it turned nice and yellow- doubt the warmoth finsih will fo that, they do a GREAT finish!

  18. Resurrecting this for Mary Kaye White.

The differences in old and new MKW is due to more white pigment being added over the years.

It will turn out a little different depending on finishing technique.

If your not happy with Warmoths Mary Kaye White you could do your own from instructions at RERANCH.COM

    cheers

so you posted advice 5yrs later because...

  20. That's OK, we don't mind seeing some basses in interesting finishes. I was real close to ordering a Warmoth in MKW a couple of weeks ago. But the grain had a couple of dark warts in the wood. And a couple of mottled areas in the grain. I was afraid that these areas would show through the transparent finish and look like some kind of skin disease. Like that thing that Michael Jackson had. Well......before he started using that special ointment. So I ordered it in Inca Silver instead.:)
