Everyone out there with a Stingray, Bongo, Sterling, Sabre, anything Musicman, show 'em off
This is the half that I take out on odd days of the month...
Hey Dub56, I've trotted out my EBMMs so often that it's probably boring now, but that sure is a nice bass you have there.
wow what collectionz1
Not the best pic, but it's my only one of these. The club neck puts it low on my list of giggers.
Very nice basses everyone
Here's a picture of my old 'Ray, I sold it to help buy my new one.
Do any of you have soundclips? I always like hearing them
Ooh I like the red and white
How does the fretless sound? I've never played a fretless MM
Unfortunately I don't have any sound clips yet, but if you:
- Favor the bridge pickup
- Favor the piezo bridge
- Make sure the neck is the straightest possible
- Make sure that the action is as low as possible
- Play over the end of the fingerboard...
You get the sweetest mwah with no effort from this beauty. I don't play it as much as my fretted (I mean, not so many gigs), but I LOVE my fretless Bongo.
Todd, nice display you've got there, even when the neck on the 5th bass from the left is not parallel to the others
Does anyone have any more HH or HS Stingrays? I really love the tone of my HS, and if anyone has soundclips of a HH or even a Bongo I'd love to hear. I can post some clips of my HS to compare, It might be interesting.
Here's my HH. I had it up for sale because I thought maybe I jumped into it too quickly. I was also considering a fretless at the time. But it really is one helluva bass. In fact, I'm going on a tryout today and that's the one I'm bringing with me.
I still haven't nailed down the name of the color. (the GC salesman was an unbelievable dud.) It's awesome though. It's sort of a black (light)sparkle but when the light hits it, it looks dark blue.
Can any MM experts help me out on the color?
If it does indeed have a blueish hue, its carbon blue pearl. If it is just black, its graphite pearl. It looks like graphite pearl to me, because it doesnt look blue enough to be carbon blue. You may be seeing blue because the pickguard brings out those tones.
Beat me to it, here's carbon blue pearl
and here's graphite pearl
See the honeyburst in BFS below.
Is it just me or is there an unusla number of MM basses for sale in BFS below?
