Wow, that's a beaut. I played one just like that at a local music store, MY was the sound ever FAT! Not bad at all for $1375* bones!

*Canadian, but it's a pretty damn good price, even with the great exchange rate.

I'm also interested in RB5's, how do the necks compare to Stingray 5 Necks? Pickups?

The necks have a different profile. it actually retains the four string jazz bass spacing and has Bill Lawrence pups in it. My cousin has a SR5 and loves my RB5 to death where as to me the spacing at the nut of the SR5 is kinda tight.Ymmv.

  7. Anyone else have pictures??~??

    here's mine...

It's a really thin neck, really flexible sound. It's definitely the best Fender I've ever played, and the best passive I've ever played.

However, I'm selling it soon. I'm an active bass guy at heart, and I don't want this great bass sitting around not getting played.

Here's mine in case with bar towel! Not a sharp picture, but it was the only one I found on my computer at work :).

BTW today we (me and my RB5) celebrate our 6th anniversary, how about that?

    Cheers,

    I love mine too, but I'm not a die-hard 5 player, I'd rather have a 4. So if you know someone who has a 4 and wants a 5....

  17. what do the 2 little switches/jacks (cant tell) do?

and are those humbuckers, becausei heard somewhere else that they are double jazz pickups?

yes, they are two sets of double jazz pickups. The switch selects series/parallel/single coil for each set. With single coil for neck and bridge you basically get a classic jazz tone.

  19. That looks a lot like my old 1996 RB5.

I think mine was s/n 614219, but am not sure about that. For some reason, I misplaced the number.
