Do you mean to include basses by builders who source bodies/necks/finishing from USACG (such as Valenti), or just ones that were assembled by the end user?
Nino, Did you get USACG to make those Jazz horns a little longer or am I seeing things? Edit: Is that the "Jay Jr" body?
The body on this one came from USACG, assembled by John Wymore when he was still using the "Black Rose Customs" moniker: I don't own it anymore, but it's a sweet bass all the same. jeremy
Seen a TON of times, but I'll post it up. And as always, Nino (and everyone else) thank you for the awesome work put into this.
Here's my Valenti J5 assembled my Nino and played non-stop by me. Great job on this by the way. Nino does good work.
Those Valenti's are all kickass, and I especially like Ibanezcollectors P/J. Looks smooth as silk, nice neck (?) I assume.
Would someone explain edge radius to me? I understand neck radius, but I've never learned about body radius.
think of square corners where the body sides meet the top, thats no radius then think of a curved corner so it flows better from top to sides thats with a rounded edge radius so Valentis have a very small curve versus say a Fender or Ibanez that are much more curved.
I love this guy, which has become my main gigging bass and was built from parts. I've now got around to lacquering the headstock so after about 12 coats and a couple of sands, the decal blends in nicely!
I love the folks at USA custom guitars. I work with the brother of one of their luthiers, Mr. Faust, and when I needed a neck, he sent me there. No regrets. The body, scored on ebay, is from Darla and Dave, Unorthodox Guitars in Indiana. The neck is from USACG, 34" scale, 1.5" nut, ebony fretboard, with a 9.5" radius. I meant it to be a cross between my 69 jazz and my 96 Alembic Epic. Routed and put together by Frenster in Los Angeles, finished and wired by me, (Tung oil) the pup is an EMG 35TW. Push the pot and she's a humbucker ceramic and steel, pull the pot and she's a single coil J pup. I don't have a favorite bass, but I play this one a lot. Oh yeah, hipshot brass bridge and a dense piece of bone for the nut, I get impatient waiting for the sustain to end.
