i think corvette was a word before it was a car. anyone know? weren't there ships called corvettes a while back (as in 19th cent?)

From The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition

    Corvette. n.
    1. A fast, lightly armed warship, smaller than a destroyer, often armed for antisubmarine operations.
    2. An obsolete sailing warship, smaller than a frigate, usually armed with one tier of guns.

'Twas a type of ship, and it still is.

I've owned several Warwicks, my favorite so far was a FNA JazzMan LTD (the second bass) here's a few pics:

My main bass, Corvette FNA JazzMan 5.

My old FNA JazzMan, I don't know why I traded this one (again)

My old Thumb (I hated the neck dive)

there is just something about vettes being a little radical without being overdone.

also good slap tone if i do say so myself. gets close to a p-bass all the way to the nasal
    solo-bridge-pickup jazz sound.

and to top it off they can be had for cheap used

Wouldnt think it would be a problem... it would have to be a special order, but it can be done. you will probably just have to pay a little extra.

I really love my warwick cabs... i think they are very good value. i have also noticed they like power, im giving each of mine over 500watts. As for the amps... i love my Pro-fet IV, but i have just ordered a Ashdown pre-amp to go with my power amp. I'm actually looking to sell the profet.
