What can be used to boost the signal between a pre and poweramp if the pre cant give the poweramp a hot enough signal? Is there a simple small booster box?

Most people would suggest a Compressor between the pre and the poweramp. I use a MIC-Preamp

    to bosst my Sansamp Bassdriver.

  3. I use a rack mount EQ between my Sansamp ADI and My QSC USA900. It doesn't color the sound unless you want it to but it does boost the signal with its level control.

  4. I use an MXR Micro-amp pedal. For about $80 this little baby heats up the tubes in my preamp for a little growl and pushes up the booty factor by making the sound a lot fuller.

It's great for tube guitar amps too for pushing them into overdrive.
