Just curious if anyone has any opinions on the JamMan...I saw Bass Day 98' and found out Victor was using it to do his awesome loops, so I started trying to get my Boss RV-3 to do it, but it wont let me play over what I record...

I know the JamMan is out of production...but they have a few on Ebay. Is it worth $250 - $500? Are there any good alternatives?

PS: I really prefer rackmount and midi controllable units.

    Thanks

You could get a Gibson Echoplex Digital Pro, which is at the top of the heap for looping these days...though it is pretty expensive.

There are several pedal based loopers that are nice, like the Boss RC-20, the Line 6 DL-4, the Boomerang, and the Akai Headrush.
