Life size drawings, templates and such....

Discussion in 'Luthier's Corner' started by iareplaythebass, Apr 7, 2004.

  1. Does anyone have any to scale drawings of a standard bass design that they could post? And if anyone would be willing, I'd really appreciate an adobe illustrator file or something like that... Thanks!

  2. Scale drawings of any bass design original or a copy are hard to come by. It takes hours and hours of measuring and illustrating to get what you've asked for.

IMO, you should be prepared to pay anything from $25 to $100 for a set of measured drawings. This isn't unreasonable considering the time and care put into such an endeavour. The MIMF has a nice set of neck-thru bass plans available on it's site for download for around $30.

    None.
    HB is right.

i have many bass plans in 3D (Pro/Engineer, 3D Studio) and in 2D (DXF, Illustrator).

they took MANY MANY hours and tons of sweat to create.

MIMF is a good source to start with, you could always modify that design to something you prefer.

There should be drawings of at least Fenders floating around... in this part of the world they can be found in libraries.
