I have tried the worst and I have tried the most priced peices that Ibanez has to offer. even the really pretty looking Doug Winbish Signature bass was not impressive I did give them a very good shot but I'll stick to my frakenstein of a bass

That's nice. That's why there are so many brands to pick from. I don't like most Warwicks or ESPs, but other people buy them.

Believe it or not, life can be just dandy with them, too.

    Just breathe.

I love my Nissan. I also dislike with the salesmen holding the guns to your heads to buy stuff you don't like.

:p I knew someone with a Nissan would come up and say that. No personal offense towards you, buddy. ;)

LOL! None taken. I have a problem with the thread's title. We can be brand loyal, and I think that if someone with an Iby takes offense, we couldn't fault them.

Having played the soundgears for awhile, I can't say that I'm a fan of Ibanez basses (or at least the soundgear series).

But... they were affordable and easy to play instruments in those days when your choices were quite limited. It was mostly either a MIM Fender, budget Yamaha or an Ibanez. No MTD Kingston, no Tobias Toby, etc. They were a very essential part of the learning curve in my development as a bassist.

I did happen to try a 20 year old Musician fretless recently. They are well capable of building pretty respectable instruments. Hopefully we'll see more coming our way.

hmmm...something kinda funny...one of the best sounding basses i've ever played was a modified ibanez sr3006. albeit, the string spacing was way too tight and the setup could've used a little tweaking, but you couldn't argue with the sound coming out of the swr rig i was playing it through. that's all i have to say about that... ;)

  19. Oh shoot, I just traded my Nissan for an Ibanez. :)
