I keep finding flatwounds that 40-100 for the 4 string but when looking at 5 string flatwounds, everyone seems to start with a 45 gauge 'G'. Is there a logical reason for this that I don't know about? I would love to get the D'addario chromes in a light version for the '5' but the light is only offered for the '4' string. Being a midlife newbie I am open to any suggestions and have not developed any love affair for any make strings but do like flatwounds. In my previous Bass Life I played flatwound and tapewounds on a '59' Fender Precision and present life have a Carvin LB75.
Also how about 'half rounds' (of course still the same problem finding lights) :help: .
