Lightest most compact Mic stand.

    Any suggestions for a mic stand, with a short boom, that's super light weight, and folds up smaller than the usual Atlas or On-Stage? I have a few gigs coming up where space and weight will be an issue.

    Lots of cheap mic stands out there that are lightweight…and they topple easily with even a short boom and mic at the end. K&M make excellent products and they differ markedly from the cheap cr*p that isnt worth owning. Add an ipad or drink holder, and you will wish you had a stable stand. I really like the K&M tripod stands. Some of the better made stands out there. A touch heavier than the (unnamed) cheap ones, but not by much. Pro quality.

    I was going to mention K&M as well, because they fold up into an easily transported straight line, no protrusions. Very rugged and dependable. But lightweight they ain’t!

    Not, mine (this shows a 6" fresnel mounted on it)! :smug:
