Hey guys, I keep seeing a few Epiphone Thunderbirds on eBay that say that they are Limited Edition Custom Shop. Then on the headstock on the back, they have a stamp that says so. I could've sworn that that was on all Epiphone Thunderbirds though. Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks!
can you show me the links from them?? if they are the silverburst ones then i could probably explain it.but if they are the regular finished ones, then i have no idea why they'd put that on them..
I believe it's because they were finished in special colors, such as alpine white, blue, and red. I've actually owned two, and both were decent instruments for the price, but I'm not sure there's much to the "limited edition custom shop" label. Will say this though. The Epi-birds that were made in Korea are much better than the Chinese basses. IME.
ok,so i decided to just take a look for myself and found two of them.and i took a look at my epi bird to see if it had the marking as well, and it did NOT.so idk what the deal with that is,cause they just look like regular ebony T-birds.no special pickups or hardware, etc.the only think i could think of is that maybe epiphone is starting to limit their ebony finish in the birds. otherwise......
Ive seen it a few times. Ive seen one on a black one, which is on eBay right now, and I think a sunburst one.
