Do a lot of slap players use some kind of a limiter to save speakers from blowing?
Or will a compressor help any?

    thanks

  2. The two are very similar, only limiters squash the level, where compressors squash the wave form. The same results can be achieved with both, but they will sound different.

I tend to not use any limiter/compressor when playing live. I do use compression in the studio to "even" out the levels when slapping but the less the better. I def don't like to hear the compression at all. Hope this helps :)
