Limiter pedal with EQ?

I'm looking for two things: a good limiter (or compressor) that can handle a super hot and bassy signal; and a EQ powerful enough to give my bassy/mid-forward G&L SB-1 a gentle mid scoop and top end sizzle.

Does that sound like anything currently available?

Oh...and to add to my wish list. I like optional battery power because I don't always use a pedal board.

Maybe I could build an Orange Squeezer clone with parallel compression and a muff tone stack with an adjustable mid-range???

The Orange Squeezer is not a good peak limiter. What you actually need is a Boss LMB-3. :) Built in mid-scoop (check out the review of the LM-2B for a graph), good peak limiting. The DDyna and Daring are also great tools, but might be too knob-tweaky for your taste.

That just might be the ticket! I knew if I kept babbling to myself you'd show up.

A little backround. I usually play a fuzzed out P bass but I borrowed a Jazz and played clean for last night's practice and it was the first time my band has ever complimented my tone so I'm looking for something to give me that chimey mid-scoop sound on command. I added the limiter idea because I like to play with dirt to keep my signal level in check and if I'm going with clean I'll need some help. I prefer to DIY but good compressors and limiters are too much work to get right. Cheaper and easier to buy than build.

Bongo: Do you know the EQ curve on the Diamond compressor?

Flat, with the ability to adjust the highs or lows, but not to scoop the mids.
