Line out buzz

Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by Tedward, Jan 19, 2012.

  1. Tried to record a bass using the DI out on my LMIII and had a lot of noise (buzz). Switched to the Acoustic B600 and the same thing. Switched pre/post and ground lift with no success. Switched out out XLR cable, power cable and used different outlets, still no good. I ended up plugging my bass into a Direct box and worked. That's ok but I want to be able to eq the bass at the amp. Any ideas as to what could be causing the buzz?
Oh, the mixer is an Akai DSP 9624. Teward
  2. Have tried using the markbass Lift ground Button?
  3. I tried everything mentioned above with both amps. The only thing I haven't tried is bypassing the snake and going directly from the amp to the mixer. I can do that tonight. Tedward
  4. Could be the power try a different power outlet or power cord.
  5. Not to hog the thread but any time I hear buzz I first look at a grounding power issue.
  6. I tried different outlets. Tedward
