Line out level on Hartke HA5500

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Noot, Jul 19, 2013.

  1. Hello,

I have just bought a Hartke HA5500 and I am noticing that the output signal from the rear XLR line is very low in volume, even lower than the bass guitar output itself. Is this normal? I also have a Peavey Mark III and the line out level is very loud. I haven't connected the HA5500 output to a mixer yet, but I have connected it to an M-Audio soundcard and I am even getting some hum when I turn up the volume on the soundcard which seems strange over a balanced line. I am worried that something might be broken with the amp's line out.

    What do you think?

That's not a line out, it is a DI and wants to feed a mic input. The manual specs 50mV nominal output level.
