Hi, im new around here and would very much appreciate your help.

I know theres a lot of information on this subject already and i have read some very helpful posts but i still need help if i dont want to break my amp.

i have a Peavey Max450 head which has a min load of 2-Ohms and a rating of 450Ws.
I have just been lent a EBS Neo-112 cab which is rated at 8-Ohms with a power rating of 300 W RMS.

Can i use these together safely?

Thank you very much for your time.

Thank you very much for the quick reply 'dog1'.
i think i read on here somewhere that under powering a cab can be more dangerous than overpowering?
Is it do with the fact that we are comparing Watts with Watts RMS? ie is the amp is actually 340watts RMS (2 times peak watt rating) at 8 Ohms and the cab is 300watts RMS?
My grasp of electronics is poor at best so shedding any light on this would be great.

    thank you very much again.

Underpowering is a myth. There is no truth to that at all. You're fine.

    +1.

170 watts into a 300 watt (max) cabinet is fine.
