Linux users, help

    So ive decided to go to linux, got it installed but when im booting up i am asked for a login, and a password, i tried putting root as teh login however wehn i am asked for the password i cant type anything.......

    I put a password in during the install, and i know what it is, so im guessing thats teh password i must use, but like i said before, i cant type, What the hell is up?

    Did you try just taking a leap of faith and typing the password?

  3. linux often doesn't show anything in password fields ....


    Login: root
    Password:

    welcome to blablabla...


    so just type it in and press enter

    i got pissed, formatted my hd and reinstalled xp, all is well.

    OT: Can you believe Billy Boy Gates released his newest Office suite (and the rest of the non OS apps) for Windows 2000 and XP only !!!! :eek:

    Looks like a good 60% of the world will be PC shopping soon :meh:
