Not sure whether this belongs in Recordings or Basses, but I thought I'd place it here since I'm wondering what specific instrument this could be (200 K MP3). I'm thinking F bass, could that be it?

Besides bein' f*cking awesome, I have absolutely no idea. :)

Random guess: Fodera (must have some sort of 'F'-ness to the sound. . .) :D

Sounds like F bass with Ebony fretboard to me...the Alain Caron sound.

However, I'm sure you could get that tone with a lot of different jazz-style basses with hard fretboards. It's similiar to Marcus's tone, though not quite there.

    Best bet, F bass.

Interesting title, too. Nausicaa was a character in The Odyssey. I don't remember if she showed up in The Illiad, but I don't think she did. Interesting, though. Who's the clip by?

  4. I'm not sure, could it be a Musicman?

Exactly my thoughts, it's very reminiscent of Alain Caron... although I'm almost sure it isn't him on the recording.
It's by the Japanese drummer Akira Jimbo, who was brought up in a thread somewhere not long ago. I downloaded a few (loads of) random MP3's to hear what he was all about and this was one of them. I have no idea where the track is from, the MP3 says it's from the album "Gathering: Animation World" if that's any help to you... sounds like it could be part of an Anime soundtrack or something. The rest of the song is quite poppy and straightforward.
