I've been taking a look at volume pedals and I was wondering what is the advantage of the linear taper on Morley's Little Alligator ? As I understand it, we hear volume logirithmically, which is why the volume pots in a guitar have an audio taper. Does anyone know why you should get the Little Alligator when Morley's PVO has an audio taper?
I didn't know it was... I have one, and I like it. My only problem is that it takes batteries, so I wish I had an Ernie Ball, for those times with no adaptor.
True the Ernie Ball does not use a battery, but mine makes that scratchy noise, and it cost's almost as much as a new one to replace the pots, they are sealed, so I cant shoot in tuner cleaner, so I replaced it with the Little Alligator after talking to Bill at Morley, 1-800-284-5172. Call him he can explain everything to you.I bought it from MF for $59.00 when they were offering free ac adapters with any Morley pedal. Also with the Morley you can set up a min volume level, so you can bring the volume up for certain parts, songs, whatever, and you can always go back to your "normal" volume level at the min setting.
