Does anyone know what equipment got that tone on the "Lakini's Juice"? It's the second track from Secret Samadhi. That is some of the best growl I have ever heard! PLEASE HELP!!:)

The recipe for Growl:Fender P Bass w/roundwounds into overdriven tube amp.

  3. I've always seen him using Jazz basses... not that he necessarily recorded w/them. :)

I'm not sure how he got the growl for that song. However, the video for it is flat out messed up.

I saw them do it live on Saturday Night Live. Patrick was using a P-Bass. I love that tone too, and a great song to boot.

Grrr... I meant Patrick. Gotta work on that.:D

The bassist, Patrick Dahlheimer, used his sunburst 58' Fender P-Bass for that song. I'm not good with distortion, but I'm figuring DOD, and he used 220-watt V-Type tube heads (Trace Elliot) for that particular album/tour. :)

Oh...and the beginning of the song he does that cool slide with his pick...

Thanks, Steph! I thought he was using Trace Elliots around that time, but wasn't sure.
