    She was on some tirade about the American populace and how we make broad generalizations about other races and nationalities. Of course, she is above all that and is completely informed on everything. :rolleyes:

    She said something to the tune of "Americans can't even tell the difference between a Muslim and a Hindu!"

    At which point I said:

    "That is a rather broad generalization, Ms. Stone."

    She shut up for the rest of the class...

    Yes. Americans generalize about the same as everyone else, sort of a human condition. Or is that too much of a generalization?

  16. +1. Most surveys are only done for a small proportion of the populace(like 900-1000 people surveys) and they get generalized into society as a whole. And I wouldn't say a human condition, more like its more efficient to generalize so that you don't have to survey/interview EVERYONE.
