    Hi all!

I was just driving to work when I remembered something that ALWAYS cracks me up!

I saw on tv many years ago a live/studio show with Nirvana. I don´t remember what song they were playing, but in the end of it, bassist Krist Novoselic acts all cool and throws his bass straight up in the air! Pretty cool huh? Well it would have been so, if it weren´t for the fact that when he tried to catch the bass on the way down, he failed miserably, the bass landed on his head and knocked him out :D
He stumbled a bit on the stage before falling down..omg talk about embarrassing (spelling?) :D

Just wanted to share this with you! If anyone has got an url to this clip I would appreciate it :D
  2. oh yeah!!! one of my favorite performances by Nirvana. I don't remember what song it was but I think it was Lithium.

I saw a clip of that on some MTV special. Ouch. But the embarrasment would be a lot worse than the large bass shaped imprint on his forehead.

The incident, I believe, was during a performance at the MTV music video awards and was just shown again this past weekend on one of their "100 most ______ moments" kind of shows.

The best bit is after, he stumbles offstage and Cobain runs after him, shouts at him and then kicks him really hard up the arse!!! I pissed meself (almost). He's such a cretin.
  6. haha i remember seeing that on a VH1 show. thats so embarrasing i felt bad for him
  7. I remember seeing that. The one that I always found "funny" for lack of a better term was when Mike Dirnt (green day) was jumping around on stage during a televised concert and wacked himself in the face with the headstock of his bass, breaking his own nose.

After the song ended you could hear this between an audience member and Billy Joe..

    AM: mumbled "Mike's bleeding"

    BJ: "what ?"

    AM: "Mike's Bleeding !!"

BJ: *turns to look* "Holy S**t!"

Throwing or the general destruction or misuse of a musical instrument has always been a huge pet peeve of mine! What is this proving again?!

I wonder if Michelangelo would smash his paintbrushes into tiny pieces after completing another masterpiece. Or if he'd push his eisel over and start jumping up and down on it.

jazzbo, that's the essence of modern art, right there!
  11. I've heard about the Novoselic thing, but I've never actually managed to see it (funnily enough they edit it out when they show the MTV awards performance on the Nirvana Live video), which is kinda annoying.

However, I have seen a similar incident involving Nicky Wire of the Manics. It was at Glastonbury a couple of years ago, and at the end of the set, he tried to throw his bass into the crowd. Unfortunatly, he was too weak, and the bass nailed one of the security guards who was standing against the rail!!!!. Having enraged the security team, he later had to be escorted away from the stage :D:D.

I suppose it ain't funny if you're a security guard, but I found it quite amusing.
  12. I remember that show, watched it live. Yah, I think they had to find a couple of Krist's teeth and take him to an all-night dentist to get em shoved back in his head.

Not cool. Have a little more respect for the dead (even if they don't deserve it...).

Sure, the bass player isn't dead. But the shotgun was an obvious reference to Kurt Cobain's suicide. As such, it was just a little inappropriate, I think. Not that I'm especially fond of him, but still...
