The B15N has a proprietary speaker connection which uses a 4pin XLR style connector to plug into side of cab. It's only a handful of feet long though, and in some studio recording situations it would be very ideal to have the amp reside in one room with the cab in another. Perhaps 30 or 40 feet of cable length would be effective in my studio. Anyone have any thoughts about constructing a custom cable to extend the B15? Provided a strong enough gauge cable was used and the extra pins were wired properly, would the sound degrade or pickup extra noise? Are there any specialized commercial products for solving this need?
I can't speak to the pros and cons of using a 30-40 foot extension cable with the B15N but they are easy enough to make. Here is a wiring diagram I made a couple years ago:
