I'm getting an Ibanez artcore today and I want to put a set of TI flatwounds. Do I need to get the 36" scale strings? I've read on the forum that some 34" scale strings aren't long enough because of the separate bridge and tailpiece. I guess I could get 34's and cut the silk back, but that sounds like a pain in the butt.

Measure from the Ball end to the Nut and then to the First/lowest tuning Post low B or E string. This is the winding length you need. It MUST clear the Nut but NOT wrap the wound portion around the Post. Scale length has no standards so I never use it as a refrence for String lenghts.
